We are thrilled to have recently won the approval from the Local Pharmaceutical Committees (LPCs) in North West London to promote the benefits of joining the Discover register to patients in over 550 pharmacies locally, starting with Jade pharmacy in Heston and a number of Boots pharmacies across the area. Many patients frequently visiting pharmacies often suffer from long-term, multiple conditions, so joining Discover provides a fantastic opportunity to hear about research studies which might be relevant to them. Similarly, an increasing number of community pharmacies are looking to be involved in health research so this provides a new opportunity to Discover to support local research in this area.

We also work with larger pharmaceutical companies, recently being commissioned to work with a company specialising in hormonal therapies to undertake analysis into the journey of patients receiving treatment for low testosterone as well as to quantify the healthcare costs of each patient journey. This study will cast light upon the financial impact this diagnosis on the NHS health care system, and help recommend where care can be improved for patients, as well as cost savings made for commissioners.
