Stay home, join the research register online, save lives

  • 24th April 2020

If you’ve visited hospitals, health events or community days in northwest London over the last year then chances are you will have run into one of our team of recruiters for the North West London Health Research Register.

Our friendly team have been travelling out into the community to help explain how, by signing up to our consent-to-contact register, you can help make life-saving health research a reality.

However, with the outbreak of COVID-19, our team have joined the nation in staying home to save lives, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t still register to be a part of this valuable work.

Simply by filling in this quick and simple form you can join more than 6,000 other volunteers who are helping to contribute to a healthier future for everybody.

Once you have filled in the form there’s no obligation to take part in studies and we won’t share your details with other parties – we will contact you if you’re suitable for a particular piece of research and you can decide if you want to take part.

Recently our registrants have helped us enable an ongoing study in COPD, and a new study on Hypertension, both being carried out at the Royal Brompton Hospital, as well as research for COVID19. diabetes, asthma and depression. You can read more about our current research here.

During lockdown some research studies will have to be put on hold to keep healthcare professionals and participants safe, or to allow research staff to support healthcare delivery. This means that you may find fewer studies open on here, and if you contact researchers they may take longer than usual to respond. We will keep this site as up to date as possible for you while things are changing quickly.

So while you’re staying home and saving lives, why not sign up online to potentially save even more?
